Deck Treatment

To promote longevity and keep your deck looking beautiful, it needs to be treated on a regular basis, roughly every 6-18 months depending on its exposure to the elements and the deck treatment used.  Backyard Bliss recommends The Flood "Spa-N-Deck" which is a 3 Stage process and is available through various hardware and paint stores.  The Flood Company warranty their product againt cracking, flaking and blistering for 2 years on horizontal surfaces and 4 years on vertical surfaces.  See the Spa-N-Deck brochure now.

 

 

Illusion

Ideally a deck will be built on one level. This eliminates any trip hazzards and allows greater scope for placement of furniture. This decking, whilst appearing to be on two levels, is actually flat with a decorative insert to create the illusion of height to break up a large area. At Backyard Bliss we help you design a deck to suit your environment and needs.

Poolside

A deck at poolside allows for greater use of the pool all year round. Being a clean surface it reduces the amount of dirt, grit and rubbish that is drawn into the pool, hence reducing the amount of cleaning required. It also provides an enticing spot to laze in the sun, or to monitor young children in the pool.

Fill out around existing decking.  This area used to have partial decking but with some creative thinking, the whole area has now been made more user friendly.  It has created extra usable space for that outdoor setting, no tripping off the ends and it looks great.
